(Bandar Seri Begawan, 7th) According to a statement released by the Department of Public Works (JKR) under the Ministry of Development, the water supply system in Meragang and parts of the surrounding water source areas is still gradually recovering. The statement pointed out that refilling of the main water tanks, including the Meragang water tank, is in progress to stabilize the water supply system.
The Public Works Department also discovered leaks in the main water supply pipelines at KM110.2 and KM107.8, affecting the water supply to the Meragang National Housing Area. The relevant repairs were completed on the same day, and the water supply system is now in the recovery stage, with normal supply expected to resume soon.
To ensure that residents continue to have sufficient water before the system fully recovers, the Public Works Department has set up blue water tanks at various locations, including the junction of Binglu Road 32, the Meragang National Housing Area recreation park, and the junction of Kamangsi Road 70. In addition, a temporary water supply pipeline has been set up at the Simpang 528 junction in Kampong Kapok.
The statement advises the public to conserve water during the recovery period to help stabilize the supply system more quickly, and also promises to continue providing the latest updates. The Public Works Department expressed its gratitude for the public's patience and cooperation, and apologized for the inconvenience caused by the water supply interruption.
