Kim Yo-jong Reiterates North Korea's Position of Not Negotiating with South Korea

(Pyongyang, 28th) Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued a statement saying that North Korea has no interest in whatever policies South Korea formulates or proposals it makes, and hereby reiterates its stance of not sitting down face-to-face with the South for negotiations in the future.
According to Yonhap News Agency, on Monday (July 28), Kim Yo-jong delivered a statement titled "Inter-Korean Relations Entirely Detached from the Concept of Compatriotism" via KCNA. She said that no matter what posture the new South Korean government adopts, the adversarial stance between the two Koreas will not change, and the fundamentally worsened inter-Korean relations cannot be reversed.
Kim Yo-jong also stressed that although South Korean President Lee Jae-myung repeatedly made appealing remarks about easing peninsula tensions and improving inter-Korean relations during his first 50-plus days in office, his blind reliance on the South Korea-US alliance and his confrontational approach toward North Korea are no different from those of previous South Korean leaders.
Kim Yo-jong is the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
