[Southern Thailand Flood] Water Levels Recede in Hat Yai, Local Residents and Tourists Gradually Evacuated

This morning, water levels in Hat Yai, Thailand, receded, and local residents as well as tourists were gradually transferred by rescue teams to the Central Festival Hat Yai Mall, where they contacted their families to report their safety.

According to Penang Penang Hill Volunteer Firefighter Vice Chairman Cheong Chong Biao (Thursday), as the water level gradually subsides this morning, rescue teams set out early and have been rescuing those trapped in different locations.

He said that after the rescued residents and tourists were relocated to the Central Festival Hat Yai Mall, many of them contacted their families to let them know they were safe. Rescue operations are still ongoing, and the disaster relief teams will continue to do their utmost to evacuate everyone who is still trapped.
