According to a report by Xinhua News Agency on the 26th, under the organization and direction of the Chinese Ministry of Public Security and with the support and assistance of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, the Hainan public security authorities recently succeeded in extraditing 11 suspects involved in illegal lottery gambling activities from Malaysia back to China.
This is another important achievement in international law enforcement cooperation between China and Malaysia, demonstrating the public security authorities' firm stance on strictly cracking down on illegal lottery gambling crimes according to law.
During their investigation, the police discovered that this criminal gang had long used overseas gambling website results to privately host and sell lottery tickets. They attracted domestic agents and bettors through social media software and offline promotion, luring people with "high odds" to recruit and encourage gambling. The amounts involved were enormous, creating a serious social impact, and the related suspects had fled overseas. The public security authorities organized elite forces to verify leads and fully investigate the case. After gathering the relevant criminal facts and evidence, and in accordance with the Ministry of Public Security's deployment, the Hainan public security authorities sent a team to Malaysia for law enforcement cooperation.
The report noted that, with the assistance of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, Malaysian police handed over the 11 suspects to the Chinese delegation at Kuala Lumpur Airport, and the task force successfully escorted the suspects back to China. It is also understood that through this case, Hainan public security authorities have uncovered and dismantled two other illegal lottery gambling gangs, and related cases are currently under further investigation.
An official from the Chinese Ministry of Public Security stated that authorities will continue to maintain a high-pressure crackdown on gambling crimes, further deepen international law enforcement cooperation, and resolutely bring criminal suspects to justice.
