The Malaysian rescue team pressed deep into southern Thailand’s disaster evacuation centers, making every effort to rescue trapped Malaysians, hoping to safely rescue all stranded nationals within today.
Sungai Petani Volunteer Fire Brigade Chairman Leong Ming Da revealed today that, according to the latest information from Thai official channels, there are still over a thousand Malaysian citizens stranded.
He said that the Malaysian rescue teams assembled at around 10am this morning and immediately proceeded in force into the disaster area to carry out emergency rescue operations. Local water levels are continuously receding, creating favorable conditions for the rescue operations.
He revealed that several large lorries, trucks, and five boats were mobilized today, all rushing to the disaster area to fully assist in evacuating stranded Malaysians, with the aim of ensuring all compatriots can safely embark on the journey home.
He said that by noon, multiple large lorries had already arrived in Hat Yai, southern Thailand, but the weather remained gloomy, causing the rescue teams to feel anxious, fearing heavy rain might fall again, making the rescue operations even more difficult.
He pointed out that currently, a total of 1,066 stranded Malaysians have been rescued, and the number continues to rise.
He stated that shortly before 2pm, the rescue teams were heading to the evacuation center to look for Malaysians, hoping to fulfill the mission and assist with their evacuation back home.
