Every Time Iran Opens Fire at Ships in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump: US Will Destroy a Bridge or Power Plant

Published at Jul 23, 2026 02:36 pm
US President Trump stated on the 22nd that every time Iran opens fire at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the US will bomb and destroy a bridge or power plant in Iran.

He wrote on social media that no matter what weapons Iran uses—missiles, rockets, drones, or others—to open fire at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the US will bomb and destroy an Iranian bridge or power plant, including such facilities located in or around Iran's capital Tehran.

The day before, Trump claimed that the US might soon strike Iran’s Ghaem mountain underground nuclear facility.

Ghaem Mountain is located near the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan Province, central Iran. Western intelligence agencies, including those of the US and Israel, believe it is one of Iran’s most fortified underground nuclear facilities.

Tit-for-tat Response to Any Attacks on Infrastructure

On the evening of the 22nd, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi wrote on social media that any attacks targeting Iranian infrastructure will be met with a "firm, powerful, and decisive" response.

He stressed that any party involved in or supporting such attacks in any form will be considered a legitimate target by the Iranian side.

On the same day, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces also stated that if the US puts its threats against Iranian infrastructure into action, Iranian armed forces will block oil exports from the Middle East and attack the region's oil, gas, electricity, and economic infrastructure.

Denial of Nuclear Activities at Ghaem Mountain

In addition, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei responded on the 22nd, denying any nuclear activities at Ghaem Mountain, saying, "The US’s obsession with Ghaem Mountain is simply an excuse fabricated for its aggression, destruction, and deliberate sabotage."

He said on social media that the US’s repeated attacks and threats against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities not only blatantly violate the core principles of the United Nations Charter, international law, and relevant resolutions of the IAEA Board of Governors and the UN Security Council, but also expose the US’s deep-rooted hostility towards Iran’s scientific progress and technological development.
