(Bandar Seri Begawan, 7th) The Brunei Fujian Association Youth Group recently organized the Dragon Boat Festival celebration for the Year of Bingwu, attracting many committee members, members, and guests to enthusiastically participate, coming together to celebrate this traditional Chinese festival. The atmosphere on site was warm and lively.
In her speech, event committee chairperson Lin Meiyu stated that the Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanyang Festival or Dragon Boat Festival, is one of the most representative traditional festivals in Chinese culture. For more than two thousand years, Qu Yuan's patriotic spirit, the unity displayed in dragon boat races, as well as the folk customs of hanging mugwort, making and eating zongzi, have long been deeply integrated into the cultural fabric of the Chinese nation.
She pointed out that the Youth Group organized this Dragon Boat Festival activity not only to pass on traditional customs and celebrate the festival together, but also with the hope that, through the power of youth, Chinese traditional culture would be revitalized with new energy and vitality.
This event featured rich content, including a zongzi-making competition, a Dragon Boat Festival knowledge quiz, fun games, as well as zongzi and a variety of delicious food for everyone to taste. Lin Meiyu hoped that all attendees, whether reuniting with old friends or making new acquaintances, could experience the unique charm of the Dragon Boat Festival amidst laughter, and by personally taking part, feel the warmth of traditional culture.
She also expressed special thanks to the committee members for their hard work and to the directors for their enthusiastic sponsorship. She said that it was everyone's selfless dedication and active cooperation that made this meaningful and heartwarming gathering possible. At the same time, she also thanked all guests for their enthusiastic participation, believing that everyone's support and enthusiasm is the biggest affirmation for the Youth Group.
Finally, Lin Meiyu wished everyone a peaceful Dragon Boat Festival and family happiness, and hopes that the Youth Group will continue to organize successful activities in the future, so that outstanding traditional Chinese culture may be passed down from generation to generation, and flourish continuously.
