(Bandar Seri Begawan, 6th) The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, through its Youth and Sports Bureau (JBS), recently held the “2026 Youth Sports Friendly Exchange Meeting” at the National Stadium, attracting more than 30 youth associations and sports organizations under the ministry's supervision to participate.

Each invited organization sent at least two executive committee members to attend, including presidents, vice presidents, or committee members, to jointly discuss topics on youth development and organizational building.

The event began with a welcome speech by Umi Kalthum, Director of the Youth and Sports Bureau, followed by a special briefing by the Youth Department of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The program later arranged 11 one-on-one consultation exchange sessions covering the “2020-2035 National Youth Policy and Strategy” (DBNS), Mengalinga applications, the PERKASA programme, team building projects, Bandar Seri Begawan Youth Centre, international projects and the Y-LITE programme, sports centre and youth centre services, as well as matters related to the branches of the Youth and Sports Bureau in Brunei-Muara, Tutong, Temburong, and Belait districts.

It is understood that the “2026 Youth Sports Friendly Exchange Meeting” is the first time such a platform for exchanges between youth associations and sports organizations has been held, in line with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports' annual work plan and key performance indicators (KPI) requirements, further enhancing the quality and participation of youth services, making relevant work more proactive, responsive, and effective.

The organizer stated that this event aims to strengthen strategic connections between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and youth associations and sports organizations, and to provide a platform for exchanges, allowing organizations to express the challenges, needs, and opinions they face.

At the same time, the conference also introduced participants to information related to the “2020-2035 National Youth Policy and Strategy”, including government assistance opportunities, facility resources, development plans, and youth training measures, laying the foundation for the formulation of more targeted action plans to enhance the development capabilities of youth organizations.

In addition, the event enabled youth associations and sports organizations to access the latest information about government programs, facility resources, and support measures, and to put forward suggestions and opinions on youth development issues.

The organizer pointed out that it is hoped that through face-to-face exchanges, the cooperative relationship between the government and youth organizations can be further consolidated, working together to promote youth development, and supporting the implementation of the “Brunei Vision 2035” and the “2020-2035 National Youth Policy and Strategy”.
