His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim deeply believes that despite the current numerous geopolitical differences globally, Malaysia and China will continue to strengthen the cooperative relations between the two countries.
His Majesty pointed out that Malaysia values deeper economic integration, enhanced supply chain and industrial cooperation, improved connectivity, and adherence to the principles of mutual respect and mutual benefit in interactions with all partners, including China.
“I believe that Chinese enterprises and investors have tremendous development potential here, which aligns with the goals of promoting regional connectivity and high-quality development under China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
“With strong strategic incentives and an advantageous geographical location, the Forest City Special Financial Zone within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) has become one of the important investment hotspots in the region.”
These remarks were made by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim in a meeting with His Excellency President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China at the National Palace on Wednesday.
In a Facebook post, His Majesty also sincerely invited the Chinese government to promote language exchange between the two countries.
“The number of student exchanges between the two countries has increased, and we hope to send more students to China in the future to deepen the exchange of cultural knowledge during their studies.”
His Majesty stated: “I believe language is an important bridge to promote bilateral relations. Therefore, I intend to actively promote the ‘Sultan Ibrahim Malay Studies Chair’ established at Beijing Foreign Studies University.”
