Malaysia Plans to Expand Cooperation with China, Anwar: Xi Jinping is a True Friend

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar expressed that Malaysia will cooperate with China in areas such as economy, trade, investment, artificial intelligence, and other new technologies, as well as topics discussed for years and fields of common interest.

He stated that Malaysia not only regards China as a close friend and neighbor but also as an important cooperative partner. The two countries have established deep trust and a long-term cooperative relationship through a comprehensive strategic partnership.

In his opening remarks at the bilateral meeting held today (16th), he said: “When we met in China in 2023, President Xi Jinping demonstrated a new type of leadership. He discussed growth, investment, and economic development, committed to poverty eradication, and proved his success.”

Anwar stated that Xi Jinping proposed visions of common prosperity and civilizational progress, which are rarely mentioned among today's world leaders.

“We admire your perseverance, and thus the Malaysian people welcome you. Xi Jinping is not only a strong national leader but also a true friend.”

He said that we will join hands in various fields such as economy, trade, investment, and new technologies, including artificial intelligence projects and all relevant methods we have been discussing for years.
