Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that China is willing to work with Malaysia to continue promoting the China-Malaysia community of shared future towards a high-level strategic direction to create more benefits for the people of both countries.
"Contribute to regional prosperity and let the friendship between China and Malaysia flourish for generations."
Xi made this statement today (16th) when leading the Chinese delegation to the Putrajaya Prime Minister's Residence to attend bilateral talks led by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar.
He mentioned that this is his visit to Malaysia after 12 years and noted that Malaysia has reached new milestones in its development over these years, with the realization of a prosperous Malaysia advocated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar. He also extended his congratulations.
Xi noted that the traditional friendship between China and Malaysia spans great distances, highlighting Chinese navigator Zheng He's five voyages to Malacca and the establishment of diplomatic relations over 50 years ago, overcoming the shadows of the Cold War.
"From the tough times during the COVID-19 pandemic, where both nations stood together, to today, where both countries are united in building a community with a shared future, China-Malaysia relations are entering a new golden era."
"The enduring history of China-Malaysia friendship is nurtured in cultural exchanges, strengthened by mutual benefits, and elevated in times of adversity, showcasing a shared pursuit of values based on sincerity, honesty, righteousness, and harmony."
He stated that this reflects the historical wisdom and courage of the peoples of both nations, and it is a precious shared asset that we should cherish.
