After U.S. President Trump accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement and expressed dissatisfaction, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke with Trump by phone and agreed not to launch further strikes against Iran.
The Israeli Prime Minister's Office issued a statement on the afternoon of the 24th, saying that Trump "highly praised Israel for achieving all its war objectives" during the call, and was "confident in the stability of the ceasefire."
The statement said the Israel-Iran ceasefire agreement came into effect at 7:00 a.m. local time on the 24th (12:00 noon Kuala Lumpur time). At 3:00 a.m. that day, Israel launched a fierce attack on targets in downtown Tehran, killing "hundreds" of members of Iran's Basij paramilitary and security forces.
The statement pointed out that just before the ceasefire was about to take effect, Iran launched a missile attack against Israel, with one of the missiles causing four deaths in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba. At 7:06 a.m. local time, Iran fired a missile at Israel and at 10:25 a.m. local time fired two more. These missiles were intercepted by the Israeli military or landed in open areas, causing no casualties or property damage.
The statement said that in response to Iran's violation of the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli Air Force destroyed a radar facility near Tehran.
