Wuzong Organizes Baduanjin Workshop: Experts from Beijing Sport University Visit Brunei to Teach Wellness Exercises

(Seri Begawan, 22nd) In order to promote traditional Chinese wellness culture and enhance public health awareness, the Brunei Wushu Federation will be holding a Baduanjin Qigong Fitness Teaching Event on Friday, July 24th at 3:30 pm at the Wushu Training Hall, Menglait Sports Complex. Four leading Baduanjin experts from the School of Wushu, Beijing Sport University, have been invited to Brunei for exchange and on-site instruction. The public is welcome to participate for free and no registration is required.

The visiting experts include Professor Cang Hai, supervisor of master's students at the School of Wushu, Beijing Sport University; Liu Xiaolei, dual world champion in Wushu and Qigong, demonstration expert for the General Administration of Sport's Baduanjin standard, professor, and supervisor of doctoral students; Wang Xiaojun, Director of the Center for Traditional Exercise Rehabilitation and Health, professor, and supervisor of doctoral students; and Dr. Zhang Jinkai, national-level fitness Qigong instructor and first-class Qigong judge.

The activity will focus on teaching the standardized Baduanjin routine. The experts will provide systematic explanations and demonstrations, covering fundamental standing postures, breathing regulation, and the full set of movements, to help participants master correct practice methods.

The organizer introduced that Baduanjin originated in the Northern Song Dynasty and has a history of over 800 years. It is one of the most important routines in traditional Chinese fitness Qigong. With gentle and stretching movements, it helps regulate body and mind, enhance physical fitness, improve organ function, and prevent chronic illnesses. It is suitable for all age groups.

The organizer stated that inviting experts from the School of Wushu, Beijing Sport University, aims to promote the spread of traditional Chinese wellness culture, allowing more people to personally experience the benefits of Baduanjin and to further encourage a healthy lifestyle.

The organizer reminds participants to wear loose sportswear and flat shoes and arrive at the venue 10 minutes before the event starts. The whole event is free and open to the public, and all interested individuals are encouraged to take part enthusiastically.
