On July 14, Andrew Giuliani, Executive Director of the White House World Cup Task Force, publicly expressed his support for the England team to win the championship in an interview with The Post.
During the interview, Giuliani said: “If the U.S. team is unable to win the championship on the occasion of our country’s 250th anniversary, then having the England team come to America and lift the trophy during our anniversary celebrations would be a truly remarkable story.”
He also mentioned that England has endured 60 years of agony, and if they could win this World Cup, it would be a wonderful victory.
Giuliani also revealed that U.S. President Trump is closely following Kane’s performance in the tournament. After England defeated Mexico 3-2 to reach the quarterfinals, Trump posted on social media: “England’s Harry Kane is a great player!!!”
