[Thailand-Cambodia Conflict] Malaysian Embassy in Thailand Urges Malaysian Citizens to Stay Away from Conflict Areas

Military conflict has erupted at the Thailand-Cambodia border, and the Embassy of Malaysia in Thailand strongly urges Malaysian citizens to stay away from the conflict areas.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the Malaysian Embassy in Thailand called for Malaysian citizens to avoid the border conflict regions, including Ta Muen Thom Temple, Tai Kwai Temple, Chong Bok, Preah Vihear, Chong An Ma, and Chong Chom.

In addition, travelers in the affected areas, including Ubon Ratchathani, Sri Saket, and Surin, are advised to take note of the following:

• Remain on highest alert and plan your route carefully, avoiding restricted or disputed areas

• If necessary, seek assistance at the nearest police station

• Register with the Malaysian Embassy in Thailand to receive timely information and support

• Stay updated with local news and embassy announcements;

• Avoid any non-essential border travel until further notice.

The embassy emphasized that it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide further notifications as necessary. All Malaysian citizens in Thailand should remain vigilant, heighten safety awareness, and pay attention to real-time news from Thai media.

In case of emergency, Malaysian citizens may contact the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok.
