Sultan: Fulfill Our Religious Duties to Attain Allah’s Pleasure and Blessings

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 28th) His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei stated that in Surah As-Saffat, verse 102 of the Holy Quran, the Prophet said to his son Ismail: “O my beloved son, I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you, so consider what you think.”

Ismail replied: “O my father, do as you are commanded; if Allah wills, you will find me among the patient.”

“This scene is very touching, showing how to willingly submit to the commands of Allah,”
His Majesty delivered a royal speech at Istana Nurul Iman last night in conjunction with Hari Raya Haji, saying that this is an eternal lesson for us Muslims. It should not be interpreted in isolation, but be studied as an example.
One of the examples His Majesty asked us to emulate is the act of sacrifice. Whether it is the wajib sacrifice or the circumcision sacrifice, both are powerful evidence of submission to Allah. Allah will not let our efforts go unrewarded.
“Therefore, for all those who are able, let us sacrifice together in hopes of gaining abundant rewards in the hereafter.”
“On this blessed occasion, I sincerely pray for the pilgrims at the holy land, that they remain healthy and can complete their Hajj smoothly and successfully,” His Majesty said.
His Majesty and the royal family sincerely and joyfully wish all Muslim people and residents a happy Eid, wherever they may be, and pray that we all may be blessed with health, happiness, prosperity, and be able to humbly fulfill our religious duties to attain Allah’s pleasure and blessings.
