(North Korea, 30th) North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un attended the 80th anniversary celebration of the North Korean Air Force with his young daughter, emphasizing the Air Force's role in nuclear deterrence exercises.
Photos released by North Korean official media on Sunday (Nov 30) show Kim Jong Un, dressed in a long leather coat, watching a flight performance commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Air Force together with his daughter Kim Ju Ae, and touring various aircraft models, including the airborne early warning aircraft unveiled by North Korea earlier this year.
According to photos published by North Korea's Rodong Sinmun, Kim Jong Un also inspected what appeared to be drones and mobile missile launchers.
Earlier, a Ukrainian intelligence official told Reuters that North Korea has begun mass production of small, short-range first-person view (FPV) drones, as well as large, medium-range battlefield attack drones.
Additionally, according to KCNA, during the exercise Kim Jong Un said that great expectations are placed on the Air Force, which he believes "will play a role in nuclear deterrence exercises."
He said: "The Air Force should resolutely repel and deter all enemy espionage activities and possible military provocations."
Kim Jong Un also said the Air Force would receive new strategic assets, without providing further details.
