French Far-Right Leader Bardella Hit With Eggs and Flour Twice in One Week

(France, 30th) Jordan Bardella, the leader of France’s far-right National Rally party, was recently struck by eggs just days after being doused with flour by a protester.
According to AFP, 30-year-old Bardella was attending a book promotion event in the southwestern city of Moissac on Saturday (November 29) when a man suddenly smashed an egg onto Bardella’s head.

Montauban prosecutor Souages said the 74-year-old man was later arrested and held on suspicion of violent assault against a public official. Bardella has also filed a complaint regarding the matter.
Bardella wrote on social media on Saturday: “The more progress we make, the closer we get to power, the more the far left’s violence, intolerance, and stupidity will run wild ... but winds of freedom, national pride, and patriotism are sweeping France, and they cannot be stopped.”

On Tuesday (25th), Bardella was also doused with flour while visiting an agricultural expo in Vesoul, eastern France. The police subsequently detained a 17-year-old teenager, but released him the next day and required him to attend a civics course.

The National Rally believes that, since French President Macron has already served two terms, the 2027 presidential election is their best chance to win power.

Former National Rally leader Marine Le Pen ran for president three times but has been barred from running again due to a conviction for embezzlement. Her protégé, Bardella, is likely to represent the party in her place.
