From the Merdeka Stadium to Bukit Jalil National Stadium, through countless star-studded nights, Mayday has spent 25 years on stage in Malaysia, journeying together with fans through music. This deep bond that has withstood the test of time now extends beyond the stage, transformed into a heartfelt force for social good.
With the successful conclusion of the Kuala Lumpur leg of "Mayday 'Back to That Day' 25th Anniversary Tour," Mayday, through their management company B’in Music, announced a donation of 300,000 US dollars (about 1.2 million ringgit) to give back to Malaysian society. This is not only their very first charitable donation in Malaysia since their debut, but also symbolizes a sincere response to the long-standing support from local fans.
The donation handover was completed by Datuk Foo Yew Chuan, executive director of event organizer Star Planet, in the presence of Wu Xiangxiang, the representative of B’in Music in Malaysia. The beneficiaries of this donation include Dignity for Children Foundation (dedicated to the education of underprivileged youth), Teach For Malaysia, Yuk Chai Foundation, and Rumah Hope Children’s Home. In addition, funds were also channeled to the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB), the Educational, Welfare, and Research Foundation Malaysia (EWRF), and St. John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM), aimed at improving the well-being of the visually impaired, supporting research for marginalized communities, and enhancing emergency medical resources.
B’in Music stated that Mayday has always cherished the companionship and enthusiasm of Malaysian fans over the years. They hope to turn the emotions stirred on stage into concrete actions, channeling the positive energy from everyone back into society and contributing to education, healthcare, and the welfare of the underprivileged.
