In response to the recent attack on US troops, the US military launched airstrikes on multiple locations inside Syria on the 19th.
According to China News Service, on the 13th, US troops encountered an ambush in central Syria, resulting in the deaths of two US soldiers and one American translator, with three additional US soldiers injured. The US side stated that the attackers were linked to the extremist group ISIS and were killed during the exchange of fire.
On the 19th, US President Trump stated via social media that this military strike was a "very severe retaliatory action" against terrorists. The US military is carrying out a strong assault on ISIS strongholds in Syria.
According to the Associated Press, the US military deployed F-15 fighter jets, A-10 "Thunderbolt II" attack aircraft, and AH-64 "Apache" attack helicopters for this operation.
US Secretary of Defense Hagseth said the operation was a direct response to the December 13 attack on US troops and aimed to eliminate ISIS militants as well as their infrastructure and weapons depots.
