According to the latest salary data released in China’s capital Beijing, the acceleration of AI industrialization has spawned a number of high-paying positions. Among them, the monthly average median salary for positions such as AI large model architect and AI operator development engineer exceeds 40,000 RMB (23,300 MYR).
According to a China News Service report, the "2025 Beijing Human Resources Market Salary Data Report (Q4)" released on the 9th indicates that, in the fourth quarter of 2025, Beijing will experience comprehensive acceleration in the commercial rollout of humanoid robots and embodied intelligence. In the smart/high-end manufacturing sector, robotics systems engineers, robotics electrical engineers, and embodied intelligence algorithm engineers have a monthly average median salary exceeding 25,000 RMB (14,500 MYR).
This report, released by the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, points out that the monthly average median salary across Beijing's key industries in the fourth quarter of 2025 remains steadily rising. “AI+” is accelerating industrial upgrades, and the growth in salary for the two key areas—integrated circuits and intelligent manufacturing—continues to lead. Their monthly average median salaries are 16,938 RMB (9,871 MYR) and 14,215 RMB (8,284 MYR), respectively.
The report states that as the industrialization of artificial intelligence accelerates and commercial demand in fields like large AI models rises in Beijing, the shortage of professional technical talent continues to expand and the salary dividends for high-end technical talent are being unleashed at a faster pace. In the same period, the monthly average median salary for Beijing's AI large model architects, natural language processing engineers, perception algorithm engineers, and AI operator development engineers all exceeded 40,000 RMB.
The above salary levels in the report are calculated as the arithmetic average of the pre-tax nominal wages for each month of Q4 2025, excluding year-end bonuses, equity incentives, and dividends.
In May 2025, Beijing released the "Beijing Artificial Intelligence-Driven New-Type Industrialization Action Plan (2025)," introducing 16 measures to support business development around “Artificial Intelligence and New-Type Industrialization.” The plan proposes a series of incentive initiatives focused on developing leading industry large models, improving equipment intelligence, and strengthening intelligent security assurance.
