A man in Shenzhen, China became suspicious that his wife was having an improper relationship with someone else, prompting him, Lu, to place a locator with recording capabilities inside his wife Huang's shoe. After overhearing "intimate sounds" between Huang and another man, Lu decided to "teach a lesson" to Zhuang, the man involved with his wife. After locating his wife, Lu saw Huang and Zhuang holding hands and taking a walk, and proceeded to stab Zhuang twice, resulting in Zhuang's death.
Sentenced to Life Imprisonment
According to a Red Star News report on the 9th, court documents show that on June 16, 2024, at noon, Lu discovered via the locator placed in Huang's shoe that she was together with Zhuang, and then placed a boning knife he had prepared in advance into the trunk of his electric bike.
At about 6 p.m. that same day, Lu rode his electric bike, tracked their location, and arrived near a street in Shenzhen's Bao'an District. There, he found Huang and Zhuang holding hands and strolling. Lu then took the boning knife from his bike's trunk, rushed forward and stabbed the victim Zhuang in the back. After withdrawing the knife, as Zhuang turned around, Lu stabbed him again. Zhuang fell to the ground. Lu then called the police and waited at the scene for processing.
A forensic report later concluded that the victim, Zhuang, died due to sharp force injury to the chest and abdomen, which caused rupture of the left lung, thoracic aorta, stomach, right kidney, and transverse colon, and massive blood loss.
After the incident, the first trial court sentenced Lu to life imprisonment for intentional injury. Lu appealed, but the second instance upheld the verdict.
