The 2025 Osaka World Expo mascot “Myaku-Myaku,” known for its unique appearance and online buzz, is at it again! The official account recently announced on “X (formerly Twitter)” that Myaku-Myaku’s first photobook will be released on April 13, immediately causing netizens to crack up.
In the multiple photos posted by the official account, Myaku-Myaku can be seen hiding behind sheer curtains, lounging in a hammock, strolling by the seaside, and sunbathing. According to the official announcement, the photobook titled “I myaku you” is impressively extensive, with the team taking Myaku-Myaku to Okinawa for a 3-day, 2-night shoot. The entire book spans a hefty 224 pages. The promotion also humorously borrows from idol photobook tropes, teasing that the book will come with one out of five special photo cards chosen at random.
What shocked fans even further is that to celebrate the release, the official team announced fan meet-and-greet events in three major cities: Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. According to Japanese media outlet “モデルプレス,” in an exclusive interview, Myaku-Myaku excitedly shared that the photoshoot was a lot of fun and hopes to keep taking on new challenges in the future. The mascot also emphasized that every page of the photobook is a highlight, and to ensure the perfect shots, extra practice was done beforehand to make sure that “every single eye on its body” could open at once. According to the website, the price of the Myaku-Myaku photobook is 3,600 yen (about RM88.6).
