(Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th) The 2025 International Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Exhibition and Conference officially opened today at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, marking a major milestone in Brunei’s efforts to address the increasingly severe challenges posed by non-communicable diseases.
Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Co-Chair of this event, Hajah Rafidah, attended as the guest of honor.
The event began with a welcoming speech by Haji Muhammad Syafiq bin, Director of The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) and Co-Chair of the event. The speech highlighted the commitment of the Ministry of Health, Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC), and Gleneagles JPMC in addressing non-communicable diseases and promoting healthy lifestyles within the community.
The five-day event attracted over 150 speakers, including representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), with topics covering digital health innovation,
healthy aging, obesity, cancer, stroke, mental health, nutrition, and more. Additionally, the conference held a health exhibition attended by more than 40 organizations and companies, providing interactive booths, free health screenings, and wellness activities.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of foods and drinks from over 20 local vendors throughout the week.
Following the opening ceremony, VIP guests toured the exhibition area, including booths showcasing national health initiatives and community health projects.
The inaugural conference also acknowledged the valuable contributions of sponsors, partners, and the organizing committee, whose collaboration and dedication were crucial to the event’s success.
