(Singapore, 15th) Indonesian President Prabowo will make a state visit to Singapore on Monday, and attend the 8th Singapore-Indonesia Leaders' Retreat with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Prabowo's visit in a statement on Sunday (June 15). This will be Prabowo's first state visit to Singapore.
According to the MFA statement, Prabowo will participate in a formal welcome ceremony at the Parliament House and meet with President Tharman. President Tharman will also host a state banquet in honor of Prabowo.
The Singapore-Indonesia Leaders' Retreat is the highest-level platform for exchanges between the two countries, held annually and hosted alternately by Singapore and Indonesia.
The MFA statement also mentioned that the retreat reflects the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and the deep personal friendship between the leaders.
"This will be the first time President Prabowo and Prime Minister Wong attend the retreat in their current capacities."
Prime Minister Wong and President Prabowo are expected to affirm the close and productive cooperation between the two countries and plan the direction for future development during the retreat.
The MFA stated, "Singapore and Indonesia have long maintained a friendly relationship and engage in close cooperation in key areas such as defense, green economy, and connectivity."
Accompanying Prabowo on his visit to Singapore are Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhaimin Iskandar, Foreign Minister Sugiayono, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Justice and Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Housing and Public Works Maruarar Sirait, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
