Head of State: Should Not Be Agents of Division Among People, Members of Parliament Should Be Bastions of Unity

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the Head of State, stated that the Parliament is an important hall in the country's system, a place for legislation, gathering of public voices, and balancing national administration, and not a place for insults and spreading slander.

His Majesty said that Parliament is a sacred hall for discussing the people's interests and the agenda of national prosperity.

"Members of Parliament should be bastions of national unity, not agents of division among the people."

His Majesty urged the members of Parliament not to engage in political tactics on issues or merely care about their own parties or groups.

His Majesty continued, "I observed last year's Parliamentary sessions, and the attitude of the members has significantly changed and displayed politeness, congratulations to all."

However, His Majesty reminded that there is still a small group of members who find it difficult to shake off bad habits.

"I don't need to list these bad habits because I believe every member knows and understands how to maintain their conduct and behavior."

His Majesty made these remarks on Monday (February 3rd) while officiating the opening of the 15th Parliament's 4th Session, 1st Meeting, and delivering a royal address at Parliament.
