KUCHING: Eight foreigners were detained during immigration enforcement operations under ‘Ops Selera’ at Jalan Satok early Friday (Apr 24).
Sarawak Immigration Department said the operations involved 24 officers and targeted three premises in the area.
It said the individuals were detained at a food outlet after failing to produce valid travel documents or work permits.
All suspects were taken to the Immigration office for further investigation.
The department said similar operations would be carried out from time to time to ensure compliance with immigration laws and curb the presence of undocumented foreigners.
