Malaysia is gradually becoming a key gateway for innovation and technology enterprises to enter the ASEAN market. As one of the top three destinations for enterprises’ regional operations, Malaysia holds attractive advantages for Greater Bay Area companies. Data shows that 98% of companies from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area plan to expand their operations in the ASEAN market, with 80% planning to establish a presence locally. Supported by policies such as Malaysia’s "National Energy Transition Roadmap" and the "New Industrial Master Plan 2030," the country offers tremendous opportunities for digital transformation and sustainable innovation.
Dr. Albert Ko, Chief Ecosystem Development Officer of HKSTP, stated that Malaysia has now become one of the most vibrant innovation markets in ASEAN, offering enormous business opportunities for tech companies seeking to expand regionally. "With our end-to-end, one-stop innovation ecosystem and strong regional collaboration network, we help innovators turn ideas into commercial outcomes, connecting with customers, investors, and industry partners across Southeast Asia. As the largest innovation and technology ecosystem in Hong Kong, we look forward to deepening cooperation with Malaysia and supporting more companies in developing within ASEAN."
In addition to showcasing innovative technologies, HKSTP also organized the "Global Mixer—Kuala Lumpur Edition," attracting numerous entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders. This fully demonstrated Hong Kong’s thriving innovation and technology ecosystem and fostered more cross-sector collaboration.
During the Malaysian visit, HKSTP and park company representatives participated in multiple business seminars, networking sessions, and business matching meetings, engaging extensively with government agencies, chambers of commerce, and investors.
