Fan Dinglong stated that over the past three days, the conference delved into innovative treatment methods and best practice solutions for diabetes and obesity through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops. He thanked all speakers and attendees, stating that their professional sharing not only deepened participants' understanding of the field but also sparked new research ideas and management strategies.
He particularly thanked the conference organizing committee, the Malaysian Ministry of Health, Miri Hospital, Miri Health Department, Sarawak Convention Bureau, and sponsoring pharmaceutical companies for their strong support, noting that their seamless cooperation laid the foundation for the conference's success.
The Double Epidemic Urgently Requires Action
He said the conference focused on "diabetes and obesity care," emphasizing the urgency of dealing with these two epidemics. According to data shared at the conference, Malaysia has a diabetes prevalence rate of 18.3%, and about 40% of adults are obese. These figures reflect the urgent need for multi-faceted actions and long-term commitments to improve patients' health conditions.
Fan Dinglong expressed that the innovative technologies, policy reforms, and treatment solutions discussed at this conference are inspiring. He hopes that participants will translate the discussion outcomes into concrete actions to create a better future for patients.

As the chairman of the conference academic committee, Fan Dinglong felt proud of the diversity and high-level lineup of speakers at this conference.
