(Kuching, 17th) Sarawak continues to be Malaysia's leading tourism and cultural destination, attracting widespread attention by successfully holding 238 events throughout the year.
Dato Sri Abdul Karim, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts of Sarawak, stated that this achievement demonstrates Sarawak's commitment to ensuring its vibrancy and relevance as a tourist destination.
“As of December this year, we sponsored or funded 238 events. With 365 days a year, Sarawak has events nearly every week.”
He said this at the 2025 Front Row live series press conference yesterday.
He mentioned that these events cover different themes such as music, culture, sports, and food, making Sarawak a vibrant and attractive place.
“This makes Sarawak a well-loved place, perhaps envied by other states as well. We receive a lot of praise for successfully hosting and managing so many events in a year.”
Discussing the 2025 plans, he announced that Sarawak will host the Boney M 50th Anniversary Tour opening on January 4 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) and hold the 2025 Front Row live series.
Additionally, the series will include a live comedy festival in Kuching and a concert in Miri, further enhancing Sarawak's appeal as a cultural and entertainment tourism destination.
