Maggie Cheung Ho Yee Enjoys Slow Living in Penang, Once Considered Buying Property

Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung Ho Yee recently visited Malaysia to attend the 9th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) as a guest award presenter. After completing her work schedule, she immediately flew to Penang for a vacation, reuniting with friends and enjoying a rare moment of slow living.

Maggie’s trip to Penang was mainly for relaxation. Friends also shared photos with her on social media, as well as heartwarming moments of introducing her to local desserts and delicacies. In these photos, she appears at ease, thoroughly enjoying the happy time catching up with friends. Besides sampling local cuisine, she also visited and checked in at the Museum Boutique Hotel in Penang.

Even before attending MIFFest, Maggie revealed in a media interview that the part she was looking forward to most on this Malaysian work trip was “chilling” in Penang after the event, to enjoy some leisure time away from the work pace.

She mentioned that she has many Malaysian friends, so she has always had strong feelings for Malaysia. As a food enthusiast, she formed a special “durian bond” with her Malaysian friends. She said with a smile that every durian season, her friends would send her lots of delicious durians, even some varieties that Hong Kong friends rarely get to try.

Speaking of her fondness for Penang, Maggie revealed that she really loves this city, and even once seriously considered buying property there. However, she admitted that the timing isn’t quite right yet—“I’ll wait until I can chill even more”—and she might make plans gradually in the future.
