The 8th China International Import Expo will be held from November 5th to 10th. Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of Commerce of China, stated that this year's expo will have participants from 155 countries, regions, and international organizations, with 4,108 overseas enterprises exhibiting, and the total exhibition area exceeding 430,000 square meters, reaching a new record scale.
The Information Office of the State Council of China held a press conference on the morning of the 28th. According to a report from China News Service, Sheng Qiuping indicated that this year’s Import Expo will be characterized by four major features: adhering to open preparatory principles, promoting shared innovation outcomes, actively advancing practical cooperation among all parties, and balancing China's needs with global expectations.
Sheng Qiuping said that the purpose of hosting the Import Expo is to expand openness, turning China's large market into a great opportunity for the world. The goal is to make China's vast market a common international market shared with countries around the world and to share developmental opportunities globally.
Sheng Qiuping also noted that this year’s exhibition area exceeds 367,000 square meters, and on last year’s base of 3,496 enterprises, more than 600 new companies have joined. A total of 290 Fortune 500 and leading enterprises in their industries are attending, with both the exhibition area and the number of companies reaching record highs. There will be 43 trade groups and over 700 sub-groups attending for negotiation and procurement purposes. Registration of professional visitors has reached 449,500.
Additionally, Sheng Qiuping pointed out that this year's Import Expo actively connects with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, with enterprises from 123 participating countries, a year-on-year increase of 23.1%.
