According to CCTV Finance on the 28th, not only have sales of new energy heavy-duty trucks surged in China’s domestic market, but they have also seized international market opportunities, performing impressively overseas as well. Data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers shows that from January to September this year, 64,000 new energy commercial vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 1.5 times. New energy heavy-duty trucks make up an important part of these new energy commercial vehicles.
At a heavy truck manufacturing enterprise in Changsha, Hunan Province, Osvaldo, a buyer from Uruguay, said he had reserved the whole afternoon to tour the production line and test drive the vehicles. He was deeply impressed by the superior performance of China’s new energy heavy-duty trucks.
Osvaldo said: The technology of Chinese products is even more mature compared to European products. I am preparing to introduce more new Chinese products and bring the latest technology back to the Uruguayan market.
On the same day, a purchasing team from Sweden also arrived to discuss orders. They indicated that, in addition to quality, the thoughtful after-sales service of China’s new energy heavy-duty trucks has strengthened their competitiveness overseas. Chinese heavy truck companies can provide customers with spare parts replacement services, microgrids, complete wind-solar-storage-charging solutions, and more.
In recent years, many regions—including Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East—have successively launched clean freight support policies, providing an excellent window of opportunity for Chinese new energy heavy-duty trucks to break into the international market. The head of a heavy truck manufacturing enterprise in Changsha, Hunan, said that this year both sales and revenue from overseas markets have seen significant growth, with new energy heavy-duty trucks accounting for a noticeably higher proportion of exports.
In recent years, the export business of Chinese heavy truck manufacturers has become an important driver of growth, and companies are attempting to broaden into more overseas market regions.
Zhong Weiping, Secretary-General of the Commercial Vehicle Professional Committee of the China Automobile Dealers Association, stated that Chinese heavy-duty truck companies have not been going international for very long, and the growth in sales has mainly occurred in recent years. The reasons are that the diversity of Chinese products, iterative capabilities, and component supply capacity are increasingly earning recognition.
