(Kuching, 30th) An elderly man was found dead yesterday (July 29) at his residence in Taman Seng Goon after being missing for over a week, with his body already severely decomposed.
The police, after receiving a report from neighbors, dispatched a team from the Sungai Sen Chai Kong Police Station to the scene at around 3:45 pm, where they discovered the deceased's body in the living room.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was a 66-year-old local man who lived alone and had not been seen leaving by neighbors for the past 10 days.
The police have contacted the deceased's close relatives, and the body was subsequently sent to the Sarawak Central Hospital Forensic Department for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Kuching Acting District Police Chief Superintendent Mubinlisa urged the public to respect the privacy of the family and not to make unfounded speculations about the incident.
