British actor Daniel Craig finished his final role as “James Bond” in 2021’s No Time To Die, and ever since, producers have been working hard to find a new successor for the iconic role, but no final decision has been made. Earlier this year, Amazon MGM announced it would take full creative control over the future of the 007 franchise, and more recently, it was revealed that director Denis Villeneuve will helm the next Bond film. Today, rumors have emerged that Amazon has narrowed down the candidates for the new Bond to three actors, including British star Tom Holland, who rose to fame as “Spider-Man,” and is seen as a strong contender for the role.
Reportedly, Amazon has decided that the “new James Bond” will be a younger iteration, and producers are rumored to be seeking a British actor under 30 to star in the next Bond film. Their shortlist consists of three names: in addition to Tom Holland, who is currently 28, Hollywood’s rising star Jacob Elordi, also 28, is said to be considered, though the only issue is that he is Australian, not British. The third candidate is 29-year-old British rising star Harris Dickinson, who last year starred alongside Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman in the film Babygirl, in which the two shared bold bedroom scenes. However, after rumors surfaced of Tom Holland potentially taking over as 007, a large number of Bond fans voiced strong opposition, arguing that he is too youthful and doesn’t quite fit the intensely masculine image associated with James Bond.
