The ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) visited Banteay Meanchey Province on the 13th to conduct an on-site inspection of the condition of Cambodian civilians injured in the Thai-Cambodian border conflict the previous day. The team also communicated with medical staff to understand the progress of treatment.
On the 12th, Thai and Cambodian troops once again exchanged fire at the border, resulting in the death of one Cambodian and injuries to three others. The three injured have been sent to Oddar Meanchey Cambodia-Japan Friendship Hospital for treatment, and the hospital has initiated emergency medical response protocols.
The purpose of this ASEAN Observer Team visit is to grasp the latest developments of the incident and to collect on-site information, providing a basis for promoting de-escalation and maintaining border stability at the regional level in the future.
