(Kuching, 13th) Yesterday, Kuching Ren Xin House held its annual Chinese New Year donation event at Taiwan Little Porridge on Wong Ah Wee Road, distributing supplies, food, and daily necessities to 61 multi-racial families.

As usual, Ren Xin House invited Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief Milton Foo, to attend as the guest of honor for the Chinese New Year donation.

In his statement today, Foo Siang Wei expressed gratitude to Kuching Ren Xin House for their charitable act as the Chinese New Year approaches.

He stated that the Sarawak government is currently moving towards a stage of prosperity, construction, and innovation, with the aim of achieving its vision of becoming Malaysia's advanced state by 2030, leading the economic engine of Malaysia. Projects include the construction of an ART train in the capital Kuching, planning for new ports and airports, and developments in carbon storage and hydrogen energy.

He said that under the bold and wise leadership of Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari, Sarawak is resolutely reclaiming its autonomy and resource allocation such as oil and gas from the federal government. Even Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar has stated his intention to make Sarawak the energy hub of ASEAN.

Milton Foo believes that the Sarawak government must fairly and impartially distribute the wealth resources of Sarawak to every Sarawakian, regardless of racial and religious background, especially to the disadvantaged groups. The recent SKAS initiative by the Sarawak government is the best evidence of this.

“Last year, the Sarawak government unprecedentedly allocated as much as RM22 million for Sarawak Chinese primary and secondary schools, which is enough to prove Premier Abang Johari's support and recognition of Chinese education.”

The items donated to each beneficiary family during this Chinese New Year donation event included: 2 bags of 10kg rice, 2 bags of sugar, 2 bags of flour, 2 bags of oil, 2 bottles of chili sauce, 2 packages of biscuits, 1 package of salt, 1 package of MSG, 2 boxes of milk, 2 cans of mushrooms, 2 cans of corn, 2 pieces of New Year cake, 8 Mandarin oranges, 1 box of green tea beverage, 1 case of canned drinks, 1 case of instant noodles, 1 tray of eggs, and a red envelope containing RM50.

Meanwhile, Taiwan Little Porridge sponsored a buffet for the people who came to collect the supplies.
