(Miri, 28th) — A fatal traffic accident occurred on Miri Pujut Road at around 7:10pm on December 27th, where a four-wheel drive vehicle collided with a bicycle, resulting in the local cyclist tragically dying at the scene.
According to the police's preliminary investigation, the driver of the involved four-wheel drive vehicle is a 23-year-old local man, who was driving from the Miri city direction heading to Permyjaya. When the vehicle was traveling along Pujut Road and approaching the junction near Boulevard Shopping Mall, it crashed into a cyclist who was emerging from the mall junction.

The deceased is a local man, aged between 45 and 50. Due to severe injuries, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The four-wheel drive vehicle driver was unharmed.
Police stated that the case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Police urge any members of the public with information related to the incident to contact Traffic Investigation Officer Insp.
