On April 8, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Cai Wei held consultations with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alimov in Beijing on China-Russia United Nations and Security Council affairs.
The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges of views, focusing on the current international situation, United Nations and Security Council affairs, and major international and regional hotspot issues. Both sides agreed to jointly uphold multilateralism, safeguard the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order based on international law, and make active efforts to promote political solutions to hotspot issues.
