High Temperature Alert Issued for Limbang and Marudi; Multiple Locations Reach Threshold for Three Consecutive Days

(Kuching, 26th) The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a notice stating that many regions nationwide are experiencing high temperatures, with Limbang and Marudi in Sarawak listed under Level 1 alert status.
The department also stated that other areas issued with similar alerts include the entire state of Perlis, as well as certain districts in Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Pendang, Padang Terap, and Sik), Perak (Kuala Kangsar and Upper Perak), Pahang (Temerloh and Jerantut), Kelantan (Pasir Mas and Jeli), and Sabah (Beaufort).
The Meteorological Department explained that a Level 1 (Alert) status will be issued when the maximum temperature in an area reaches between 35°C and 37°C for three consecutive days.
The authorities advise the public to drink plenty of water, stay cool, take protective measures when going outdoors such as wearing sunglasses and using sunscreen, and to reduce strenuous and outdoor activities.
