(From Miri, January 4) The Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year was held this morning at the 4th-floor event hall of Boulevard Shopping Mall in Miri, organized by SK Tudan Jaya. The event was officiated by the Minister of Transport for Sarawak and Assemblyman for Senadin, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin.
In his speech, Dato Sri Lee expressed his gratitude for being invited to the meaningful event and stated that it was an honor to attend. He emphasized that the Academic Excellence Awards ceremony was not only a recognition of the students’ exceptional achievements in various fields, but also a source of motivation for all students to continue striving for excellence.
He pointed out that excellence is not a coincidence, but the result of hard work and commitment. The students receiving awards today have proven that with dedication and perseverance, success is within reach. He encouraged the students to continue their efforts and use today’s achievements as a stepping stone to even greater successes in the future.
Dato Sri Lee also stressed that the success of students is not only dependent on their own efforts but also on the support from parents and the hard work of teachers. He acknowledged that the collaboration between parents and schools plays a crucial role in helping children go further in both academic and personal development.
Furthermore, Dato Sri Lee announced that a grant of RM50,000 would be allocated to SK Tudan Jaya for the installation of Smart TVs in 18 classrooms to meet the demands of modern education and enhance the quality of teaching.
He emphasized that technological innovation is the trend of the times, and schools should actively incorporate new technology to provide students with advanced learning tools and resources.
Regarding the construction of SMK Tudan Jaya, Dato Sri Lee revealed that the Education Department has decided to re-tender and proceed with the construction works, with the new school building expected to be ready for use by next year. He stated that this project will further improve the learning environment for students and meet the growing demand for educational facilities.
A total of 67 Year Six graduates were awarded during the ceremony. Dato Sri Lee congratulated all the awardees, praising their excellent achievements and encouraging them to continue pursuing excellence and aim for even higher goals.
He also expressed his gratitude to all teachers, parents, and supporters who made the event a success, acknowledging their collective efforts in organizing the ceremony. He hopes that the spirit of cooperation will continue to thrive, contributing to the advancement of education.
