Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said on the 25th that in recent days, the United States has conveyed proposals for ending the war to Iran through several friendly countries. Iran’s top leadership is currently studying these proposals, but the exchange of information via these mediators does not mean Iran is negotiating with the US.
He made these remarks during an interview with Iranian national television.
He stated that an unguaranteed ceasefire would only lead to a cycle of war. Iran demands that the hostile parties end the war in accordance with Iran’s proposed conditions and ensure that the war does not recur, while also compensating the Iranian people for their losses.
Will Continue Exercising Right to Self-Defense
Additionally, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghai said in an exclusive interview with 'India Today' that Iran has not started negotiations with the United States and will continue to exercise its right to self-defense.
He stated that Iran fully understands the concerns of relevant countries about the situation and their desire to de-escalate, but that the US and Israel are currently still attacking Iran. Under such circumstances, all talk about negotiations and diplomatic consultations by the US and Israel is not trustworthy.
He said Iran has received requests from several countries to mediate negotiations and has responded, but its position on continuing to exercise the right to self-defense remains unchanged. The more critical issue is to break the vicious cycle of 'war, negotiation, ceasefire, more war' and ensure that the US and Israel pay the price for their actions.
Baghai stated that the United States is using the airspace, military bases, and logistical facilities of Persian Gulf coastal countries to strike Iran, dragging these countries into the war.
He called on the relevant countries to refuse to allow the US and Israel to use their territory to attack Iran and said Iran has no intention of antagonizing its neighbors.
