A traffic accident occurred in Lichuan, Hubei on Saturday (October 4), resulting in five deaths and eight injuries.
According to a police bulletin issued by Lichuan Public Security Bureau in Hubei on Sunday (October 5), investigation shows that a 54-year-old female driver surnamed Xiong lost control of her small car due to improper operation, causing two people to die at the scene and three others to die despite medical efforts; eight people were injured.
After the incident, the police arrived at the scene to handle the situation and, together with the emergency center, sent the injured to the hospital for treatment. At present, the driver Xiong has been criminally detained, and drunk driving and drug driving have been ruled out. The injured are not in life-threatening condition.
