(Thailand, 15th) In order to further standardize public transportation operations, combat illegal activities that infringe on tourists' rights, and effectively improve Thailand's tourism reception service quality, on June 13th, the Thai Tourist Police Bureau, in conjunction with the Thai Bus Drivers Association, held a taxi driver training course in Bangkok. The initiative aims to create a "Friendly Host" service network to ensure the safety of tourists.
This training, conducted under the policy guidance of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports Sorawong, and National Police Chief Police General Chidila, aims to deepen cooperation between the taxi industry and law enforcement departments to prevent and curb misleading, fraudulent, and overcharging behaviors that disrupt tourism order. It seeks to foster a safe, honest, and convenient tourism environment.
Tourist Police Bureau Director, Police Lieutenant General Sakchira, Tourism Authority of Thailand Director Jaturong, representatives from the Department of Land and Transport, and the Traffic Police Bureau were present at the event. More than 120 taxi drivers from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Don Mueang International Airport participated in the training.
Police Lieutenant General Sakchira stated that airport taxi drivers are the "first contact point" for tourists arriving in Thailand, and their service attitude and professional integrity directly impact tourists' initial impressions of Thailand. The Tourist Police Bureau will continue to strengthen cooperation with all sectors to promote dual progress in "safe tourism and friendly reception," continuously enhancing service quality and enforcement efficiency.
The training content includes legal regulation explanations, service etiquette training, enhancement of safety awareness, and development of emergency response capabilities, aiming to guide drivers to consciously abide by the law, warmly serve guests, and become an important force assisting the police in identifying and reporting suspicious behavior.
It is reported that the Thai government is accelerating the construction of a "Taxi Assistance Tourist Network" covering major tourist spots and transportation hubs nationwide, continually weaving a comprehensive tourism service protection network to create a safe, orderly, and welcoming international tourism environment.
