The renowned Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido, Japan, was rocked by a shocking body incineration case. The zoo’s animal keeper, Tatsuya Suzuki, was arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife and then burning her body. Police investigators discovered multiple pieces of human bone in the incinerator on Sunday (the 3rd), which will be sent to forensic experts for identification to confirm if they belong to his wife.
Tatsuya Suzuki had previously represented the zoo in many media interviews, presenting a gentle image of a man who loved animals. However, he reportedly had a troubled relationship with his wife, Yui Suzuki, who had been missing since late March. On the night of March 31, he allegedly transported her body to the zoo’s incinerator and burned it. Whenever friends or relatives asked about her whereabouts, he claimed she had traveled.
After several days of being unable to reach her, her family finally reported her missing to the police in late April. On the evening of April 30, Suzuki was arrested on suspicion of incinerating his wife’s body. During police interrogation, he confessed to the crime without hesitation.
Afterwards, based on his confession, police conducted a thorough search of the incinerator in the zoo and found suspected human remains there today. The remains have already been sent to forensic experts to confirm whether they belong to Yui Suzuki.
