The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported on the 4th that an oil tanker off the coast of the United Arab Emirates was hit by an unknown projectile. All crew members are safe.
The UKMTO stated that the incident occurred 78 nautical miles north of Fujairah, UAE. Authorities have launched an investigation and called on vessels passing through the area to navigate with caution.
This incident comes at a time when peace talks between the United States and Iran remain at a standstill.
25 Crude Oil Tankers Departed Iran in April
In addition, data from the maritime intelligence firm "Tanker Trackers" website shows that a total of 25 oil tankers carrying crude oil left Iran in April, some of which have already reached their intended destinations.
According to the report, seven of these tankers returned to Iran in the Arabian Sea due to a US military blockade, two were seized by the US in the Indian Ocean, and one sailed to the Far East. Of the remaining 15 oil tankers, most reached their intended destinations in the first half of April.
