Communications Minister Fahmi stated that the ASAS advocacy training program will be expanded nationwide, including Sabah and Sarawak, to strengthen the Progressive Community.

He said that the government will provide special funding allocations to ensure that community members can operate more effectively on the ground, while also eliminating slander and misinformation within local communities.

“We want to ensure that the team has the foundation to help them accurately convey information, combat fake news, and bridge the gap between the people and the Progressive Government.”

“My expectation is that the ASAS program will next be carried out nationwide, starting from Sabah, then to Sarawak, and later to the East Coast.”

He said this to reporters today (23rd) after the closing session of the Central Malaysia ASAS advocacy training program.

Fahmi mentioned that currently, 1,878 Progressive Communities have confirmed their participation in the program.

He said the program will also be promoted alongside the cybersecurity advocacy campaign driven by the Communications and Multimedia Commission, to raise awareness of cybersecurity threats, including cyberbullying issues.

“The program is expected to cover 10,000 schools nationwide and all government universities, and also engage Progressive Communities in cybersecurity modules.”

The ASAS advocacy training program covers multiple training modules, including mastering the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence and video editing, to ensure that Progressive Communities are more confident in communication and accurately conveying information.
