(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14 June) Taman Jerudong Medical Centre (JPMC) recently received a visit from a delegation from the Royal Hospital under the Ministry of Health of the Sultanate of Oman, where both parties exchanged views on cancer treatment services, clinical practices, knowledge sharing and research developments, and discussed opportunities to strengthen international medical cooperation in the future.
The delegation from the Royal Hospital of Oman visited JPMC on the 12th of this month. The visit is part of JPMC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with international medical partners, with the aim of driving research and development, knowledge exchange and improving the level of medical services.
Upon arrival, the delegation was welcomed by JPMC’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Haji Mohamad Shafiq Abdullah, along with heads of departments from various divisions of the Brunei Cancer Centre who participated in the discussion and exchange session.
Members of the Omani delegation included the Director of the National Oncology Centre, Dr. Suad Al Kalbousi, Dr. Suraya Al Hajri from the National Oncology Centre, as well as a representative of the International Cooperation Department, Sharha Al Ismaili.
During the visit, both parties exchanged views on developments in the medical field, with the focus of discussions covering oncology treatment services, clinical practices and the direction of the development of special care standards for cancer patients, which are constantly changing.
This exchange also served as a platform for both parties to explore areas of future cooperation, including strengthening the sharing of professional knowledge, as well as opportunities for collaboration in the field of research and development, thus fostering closer ties between medical institutions from both countries.
JPMC informed that through international exchange activities such as this, the center continues to build a network of cooperation with medical institutions and professionals abroad, and emphasizes the importance of sharing knowledge, experience and best practices to support the continuous improvement of health services.
The center stressed that it will continue to seek and develop international cooperation opportunities to enhance Brunei's medical capabilities, clinical expertise and innovation in patient care.
JPMC hopes that by strengthening relationships with regional and international medical partners, it can foster continuous learning and contribute to the continuous development of the health sector in Brunei.
