The military conflict at the Thai-Cambodian border has stirred patriotic sentiment among the Cambodian public. Thousands of Cambodian citizens responded to the call by the Cambodian Prime Minister’s wife, Pich Chanmony, to donate blood in support of soldiers on the front lines.

According to the Khmer Times, Cambodian Prime Minister’s wife Pich Chanmony made a call Thursday night on Facebook for citizens to come forward and donate blood to support the soldiers safeguarding the nation at the front.

On Friday (the 25th) at 9 a.m., large crowds flocked to blood donation centers, including office workers, students, and monks, showing their patriotic spirit through action. According to estimates, more than a thousand people responded to the call and went to donate blood.

In addition, Cambodian Princess Norodom Arunrasmy also responded to the blood donation campaign, arriving at the center this morning and making a large donation, personally showing support for the frontline soldiers.

In addition, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many also visited the blood donation center on behalf of Prime Minister Hun Manet.

According to posts on Hun Manet’s official Facebook page, this blood donation campaign is to meet the ongoing need for emergency transfusions to save the lives of patients hospitalized due to accidents or serious illnesses, as well as to be prepared for possible casualties among frontline soldiers or civilians.

The post emphasizes that, based on these two main objectives, this humanitarian blood drive is not only a precautionary measure for potential emergencies, but also aims to proactively store blood resources according to current needs to deal with life-threatening situations soldiers or border-area civilians may face in the conflict. Blood is vital to life, and these reserves can be provided at any time for doctors to conduct emergency treatment.
