(Kajang, 3rd) Four students suspected of assaulting a classmate at a shopping mall in Kajang were released on bail on Saturday (August 2).
Selangor Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Na Azlan stated that police initially obtained approval to remand the four 13-year-old students until Sunday (August 3), but since documentation and investigative procedures had been completed, approval was given for their release on bail on Saturday (2nd).
"As of now, police have recorded statements from nine witnesses, including the four arrested students. Preliminary investigations indicate that the conflict was triggered by communication and interaction issues involving the victim."
According to reports, the incident took place at 11am on July 30. The victim, a student from a secondary school in Kajang, was beaten and later sought treatment at a nearby hospital, where it was confirmed that he sustained minor facial injuries.
This case is being investigated under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act 1955. The police subsequently arrested the four students involved.
